The 17 occupations are in the health (notably nursing, psychiatry, and general medicine), construction (in project management, executive management, or mechanical engineering), and, IT (development programmer and software engineer). It is intended that the occupations in these sectors will boost the health and economic response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Exemption from Australia’s travel restrictions can be made by request for visa holders sponsored in a PMSOL occupation by and Australian business, however, a mandatory 14-day quarantine period must be completed on arrival.
